Radiohead - The King of Limbs

I can't think of a single good reason to not get your hands on this album.
I've already listened to it twice today. Yeah, its Radiohead so I'm prone to over-reacting, but as of this moment I'm not hesitant to call it a better In Rainbows. Also, the new music video for "Lotus Flower" is nothing short of ridiculous.

kind of a big deal

Arcade Fire won album of the year!!! I was considering posting some write-up about how important it is for Indie Music ect ect, but you can read better write-ups than mine. As you can expect, some people weren't so pleased about the underdog victory.

In other BIG FREAKING NEWS,
Radiohead has continued their tradition of announcing albums a week before they're available. The In Rainbows follow up is called "The King of Limbs" and thats the cover art above.
Preorder The King Of Limbs here as either a 9$ digital download or a 48$ deluxe "newspaper(?)" version of the album.

Ben Gibbard Covers Radiohead, is proud of his new album.

Yep. Props to Ben for being courageous enough to cover Radiohead! I mean if you're going to attempt to cover a Radiohead song "All I need" is probably one of your best bets (especially for a guy with similarly moody songs) but he still gets props because it turned out being pretty great! I've been listening to it on repeat for a good 15 minutes now.
In other Death Cab news check out this interview w/ Spin for news on their new lives as family men and their new record. Ben claims he is embarrassed by the amount of "self loathing" on Narrow Stairs and that he is extremely proud of their follow up.
In other Radiohead news Thom Yorke has a new single out!! Of two minutes straight of silence!! but its for charity so pretend you're still excited. Check out the details on Stereogum.

Radiohead, Fleet Foxes finished recording!

1st off, Radiohead is "done recording a new group of songs", according an essay by bassist Collin Greenwood! The essay is pretty lengthy, but definitely worth your time. Greenwood talks about the decision let their fans decide what in rainbows was worth to them, and how the internet has changed since then. He doesn't really say if this next album (group of songs... whatever) will be released in a similar matter however.

In more awesome "the music is ready" news, Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes posted this update on their facebook:

Fleet Foxes Hey all, it's been a bit since a recording update. Well, recording is done! We are flying to New York tomorrow to mix and master the album and will have information about release date and when you'll get to hear a song or two SOON. Geologically soon but soon. -Robin

Anyways, heres a remix from each of those bands last album's to get you excited!
