The xx - Open Eyes (demo)

There aren't many albums more feverishly anticipated in 2012 than the XX's sophomore effort. Clearly, the band realizes this, and decided to give us all a Christmas present. Quietly released on youtube and their blog, the demo is a hushed intimate affair. The track is notably missing Jaime's signature room filling drums, but still manages to produce that spine tingling effect that only the XX can create.

At this point, there isn't an official release date, album title or any word on if we'll see a finished version of Open Eyes on the album.

Introducing: Traveling

I found myself pleasantly surprised last week when Traveling made their way through Tallahassee. Even though it was only their fourth show together, Traveling (fronted by one of the members of Good Luck) ripped through a painfully short set of no frills Indie Rock. No frills certainly isn't a slight though. Who needs frills when you've got great vocals, perfect guitar tones and insanely catchy melodies? Traveling are still hanging out in the Sunshine state, and will be playing two shows at Fest this weekend in Gainseville. Even if you can't make it to a show, check out their four song demo below, and be ready to smile.

Unouomedude - Emilia

I'm not really sure when this demo from actionville resident Unouomedude was released, but its new to me so I figured I'd post it. Based on the sleigh bells in the background it could be a christmas track that I'm way behind on, but I feel just fine listening to it January. It reminds me a lot of Teen Daze's sort-of left turn EP Beach Dreams, in all its lo-fi dream pop goodness.

You can also grab a mixtape made by Uno over at 40oz clothing, along with a link to buy a tote-bag he designed, if you're into that sort of thing.
